Is your organization using Salesforce Accounts? Well, if you are like most out there you've added your own custom email to keep track of the customer.
But now you want to integrate the Account's email in Salesforce to your Marketing solution right?
Let's take a look at a real use case to see how this works specifically.
Many of our subscribers want to bring their contacts over from Salesforce to Constant Contact - specifically, the email addresses of the contacts. However, they then notice that the Account Object isn't recognizing the email addresses, thus creating no new contacts.
Since Salesforce doesn't have a standard field for emails, they have to use custom text mapping in SyncApps to migrate the records over to Constant Contact. However, the records aren't migrating correctly, from what they saw - so what seems to be the issue?
By default, once the option the arrow is pointing is selected (Account), SyncApps will use the main email address specified in the record.
But where do we find the email address field in Salesforce?
In SyncApps, you can map it in Step 4, via the Enable Additional Field Mapping feature.
Now, this is a custom field. When using the custom email address field, make sure that the Account has a primary email address on it - if it's empty, the integration won't run correctly, so be sure that all Account records have an email address in them so that they can be migrated.
One can then map that custom primary email address in Step 4 of the Sync Profile to the standard email address field in Constant Contact.
