Sync multi-select picklist fields from Salesforce directly into Mailchimp Tags & Groups or Constant Contact Lists using SyncApps.
This has been one of our most requested features—and it’s live now on our new One Plan.
Why This Matters
Before, syncing a Salesforce field with multiple selected values required workarounds or complex filters. Now, if a contact in Salesforce is tagged with several values (e.g. “Donor”, “Volunteer”, “Alumni”), SyncApps can mirror those values as tags or groups in Mailchimp or lists in Constant Contact automatically.
🔧 How It Works
One-Way Sync
- Sync Salesforce multi-select picklist values to:
- Mailchimp → Tags or Groups
- Constant Contact → Lists
- Values selected in Salesforce appear as tags/groups for each synced contact.
- Example: If “Mary Smith” has multiple picklist values associated with their record like Donor and Alumni, her Mailchimp profile will now have both tags applied or Groups if desired.
Bidirectional Sync
- If you remove a tag/group in Mailchimp, SyncApps will also remove the corresponding value from Salesforce (using Webhooks). Constant Contact lists cannot sync bidirectionally due to API limitations.

FAQ
Can I use this with my Legacy Plan?
No. This feature is exclusive to the new One Plan. Legacy plans do not support syncing multi-select fields as tags, groups or lists. You can do a trial of the One Plan from your SyncApps dashboard.
What if I only want to add tags, groups or lists yet not remove them?
No problem! Just sync selected values from Salesforce to Mailchimp or Constant Contact.
Does this work for bidirectional sync?
Yes, for from Mailchimp to Salesforce using webhooks, yet it is not possible with Constant Contact due to API limitations.
