NetSuite Contact and Customer Subscriptions can be integrated into Klaviyo, Mailchimp Audiences and Groups, Constant Contact Lists, ActiveCampaign Lists, and Tags.
Let's see how that works.
Flow:
Each NetSuite Subscription will create a List automatically for Constant Contact, Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, and others.
Mailchimp is an exception as an Audience will tie to the NetSuite Subscription using Groups under each Audience.
A few fun facts:
NetSuite Subscription(s) to Marketing Automation List(s) work on a one-to-one basis bidirectionally. Permissions for "Setup - Setup Campaigns" are needed on the NetSuite side.
If you need to remove a NetSuite Subscription from the record in Mailchimp under the Group Category, then use our Full Sync feature for this use case in tandem with this feature.
Please note that adding a NetSuite permission does not affect a role immediately. It may take up to 24 hours before it is applied.
Unsubscribing from your Marketing Automation solution's List will remove a subscriber from the NetSuite-specific subscription.
Optional Feature:
Use a NetSuite Subscription subscription status instead of Global Subscription status so essentially, the feature will update selected Subscriptions instead of the NetSuite Global Subscription Status when a Contact unsubscribes from Mailchimp.
If you have selected this feature in Step 1 of your integration setup, then please note the following.
Let's take the case of a Mailchimp Audience with Groups:
By default, when the NetSuite Soft Opt-Out field is checked on a record's Global Subscription Status, then when a Mailchimp subscriber unsubscribes from an Audience in Mailchimp, this means that if you have multiple Groups under your Mailchimp Audience tied to NetSuite Subscriptions, it will affect each.
If, however, you need to manage multiple Audiences with multiple Groups tied to multiple NetSuite Subscriptions, then please enable the feature in Step 1 on your Integration to allow the NetSuite Subscriptions feature in Step 1 to be your default opt-in/opt-out mechanism.
By default, a NetSuite Subscription matches a specific Mailchimp Group, so when your customers unsubscribe from a Group on the Mailchimp Update Profile Form, they will be unchecked on the NetSuite side for that subscription if you have set up a Set Up for each NetSuite Subscription to be managed in this manner.
If you want to sync to multiple Mailchimp Audiences, which is possible using Subscriptions but in a separate Set Up using the "Select Specific NetSuite Subscription" feature, please set up multiple Set Ups for this need.
Once set up in each Set Up, anytime a subscriber in your marketing automation platform like Mailchimp unsubscribes from a Group, the NetSuite Subscription will be updated.
If you need to use NetSuite Saved Searches in tandem with this feature to limit your records flowing to your Marketing Automation solution, then follow this example for a Mailchimp integration best practice below:
- One integration will sync the Subscriptions to Mailchimp Groups under each Audience, and Global Subscription Status is ignored.
- One integration can use your NetSuite Saved Searches to move records to Mailchimp Groups, and Global Subscription Status is observed.
