Normally, if a record is synced to Mailchimp with a blank required field, this will throw an error. Now, if wanting to sync these certain records to Mailchimp, even if a required field is blank, then here's a workaround to meet this requirement.
To avoid any validation for the XYZ field, you will need to use "Text" data type instead of "Dropdown" in Mailchimp or you may leave the "Required?" field blank.
