Integrate Your Nonprofit Success Pack Primary Affiliation

A Nonprofit Success Pack Affiliation is actually an independent, custom Salesforce object that links Contacts with Organizations.

Affiliations can represent current or past connections between your Contacts and Organizations—much like Relationships (the key difference being that Relationships in the NPSP are for Contact-Contact connections, and Affiliations are for Contact-Organization connections).

The NPSP allows you to mark one Primary Affiliation for each Contact as the Contact's Primary Affiliation.

Best Practices

You can integrate your Contact's Affiliations by using multiple Salesforce Campaigns or List Views that contain the Contacts you are trying to move over to your marketing automation solution.

The Primary Affiliation field can be used as the criteria to sync over records to your marketing automation solution.

NPSP supports Sendinblue, Constant Contact, Mailchimp, and others.

Let's take a look at how it works using a Mailchimp example:

Use Campaigns or List View to sync to Mailchimp Groups, with its Campaign/List members. 

By default, when you select this feature to integrate Campaigns or List Views the platform will sync all "active" Campaigns or List Views in Salesforce to Mailchimp Groups or Tags under your main Audience.

If you would like to control this feature from within SyncApps then you can select some or all Campaigns/List Views, in Step 1 of the integration.

In Step 2 of the Set Up, select Group(s) or Tag(s) under the Segmentation Method.

See the Steps below:

1. In Step 1 of the Set Up, enable the option "Want to use a Campaign or List View to sync Campaign/List Members to Mailchimp?"

2. Select the Segmentation Method: Use Mailchimp Groups or Tags in Step 2 of the Set Up.

3. Hit save, then Reset Sync Process and resync.

Your automation will now be moving over your Campaign or List View members with your Affiliation criteria to Mailchimp Groups or Tags.
